Danny D's Mud Shop February Newsletter
New Product - Redesigning + Improvements
Its already mid February and this is my first official newsletter for the Mud Shop. January was surprisingly busy and and I hope it's not too late to give my thanks for the new people reaching my store last month, but also all the support from December last year.
It was one of the most thrilling months and am so grateful for the support.
My goal this year was to really sit down and see what I can improve in my business. The list began to scale pretty fast - there are always so many places to grow. For January, it was really important for me to really examine some of my first designs and think "hey, whats working here, whats not?". Out of the gate when I started this company, I was immediately drawn to a skull and cactus motif. To my surprise, people really responded, and nearly two years later I kept that strong, and have produced hundreds of those pieces by hand. But in this vortex of "make - sell, make - sell", I never had a proper moment to be critical with them.
It sounds kitchy, but this year I hope to work with more intention, and with the slightly slower months for retail, spend time on focusing design, style, and quality. Over the holidays I have the pleasure of visiting a few of my stock-ists during my travels, and I noticed all the cups on the shelf were displaying the cactus side only. I took that as a sign. Skulls are still cool, I'll make them into a separate style and line amongst my product. Im really happy and proud to showcase what I've been working on, and introduce some more western inspired tumblers, copitas, and wine cups

Trying Something New : Lighting
Testing my skillset, asking tons of questions, finding new vendors, watching lots of YouTube videos, buying more tools. All things necessary to exploring a new skill - wiring and electrical. Learn how to strip wire? Learn how to attach threaded nipples through a ceramic lamp pendant? No problem when I have help from my friends at Conway Electric
I always thought vases were my go to artistic outlet. I think im challenging with these. So, so excited to share some of my work hopefully by end of month!
Next in Studio Carving Workshop - tumblers
If you're KEEN and PREPARED - next workshop is posted on my website. It's already a quarter sold so check it out if you know you're going ot be in LA on the 23rd next month! Basically the same price of a fancy tumbler, but you get to put YOUR design on. See you there :)

If you've made it this far I appreciate your support so much. Im lucky to have a really great clientele and healthy email list, so moving forward i aim to be more consistent with these. This year is panning out to be really eventful, and hope to share these with yall more consistently moving forward - things like popups in Japan, art shows, brand activations, clothing collars. Thanks for being here and being part of the shop -d
